A BRIEF HISTORY OF HISCFHS

The first organizational meeting of the HISCFHS was held December 5, 2009 at the Reader's Cove Library in San Souci, Harsens Island, MI. Those persons interested in serving on the Board of Directors met January 16, 2010 to elect officers. A second organizational meeting was held Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the Reader's Cove Library, San Souci, Harsens Island, MI. At this meeting a rough draft of by-laws was distributed. Meetings are now scheduled and a general agenda has been articulated. Initially, the society has set its goals on the following objectives: membership, fundraising, and a museum for the Society. On May 28, 2011 the museum was opened in the old fire hall in downtown San Souci, Harsens Island.
